I was with Citi from 1976 thru 1981 in the WCG Vzla and then for a short time in San Francisco. I then spent 2 yrs as S. American Dept head at Texas Commerce Houston before returning to the CMG in 1983. They sent me back to Vzla for a few years to do investment banking and then i returned to NY to a corporate finance function.
I left in 91 to become CEO of a Greek owned bank in NYC in need of a turnaround. Success...then I started and took public another small bank in Ct.
Over the past dozen years I have been an active investor in a number of start ups. Today I own a small internet company in Brasil and dabble in various social network/online publishing efforts.
Like many of you, I am sure, I thoroughly enjoyed the Citi experience (minor crap notwithstanding) and miss the excitement of working with, butting heads with and socializing with, many of the very bright and competent people that I met there.
