After taking early retirement from Citi in October 2004, I joined the Financial Services Authority (the UK regulator) as the Director of its Wholesale Firms Division.
In this position I am responsible for the supervision of firms active in the wholesale banking, investment banking, insurance and asset management sectors (a total of 3000 firms, including Citigroup).
In addition, I function as the Banking Sector Leader for the FSA, coordinating our approach to banking issues and dealing with the industry.
I am also a guest professor at the University of Frankfurt and the Technical University of Darmstadt in Germany.
