I worked for Citi for nearly 17yrs between 1972 and 1988, always in Credit/Risk in London, Canada and New York.
I worked in Old Court Place in London with NCFT - the fore-runner of the Leasing business, before becoming one of the first inmates at Citibank House in the Aldwych. After a few years in Wembley and Knightsbridge (ah, the memories of swinging London and mini-skirts near Harrods!) I emigrated to Canada to work in the newly acquired Citicorp Leasing Canada business in Burlington ONT.
Working for the legendary Charlie Kelly and then following him to NY to begin the Vendor Leasing business in Harrison, NY. Reluctantly headed home after 3yrs IS came to an end and found myself working in Hammersmith, W.London engaged in small ticket Real Estate Lending (Ran into Martin Dale again there - he had been my first boss in Citi. After stints in Brettenham House, Citibank House and Cottons, I heard the call of GE and left to join their GE Capital business.
I have now been there longer than I was at Citi which has surprised a few people who ex-pected me back within 2yrs! Always in the Leasing side, I am now the European Chief Risk Officer for the Equipment Finance side of GE Commercial Finance's Healthcare Financial Services.
Retirement seems many years away with 3 young children (8, 10 and 13) from a 2nd marriage and 2 from my first - now a grandfather, too!
