Well, as webmaster, whom do I have to give credit for making Xciti happen?

To that lose gang of Ex Citibankers around the Globe who made the task of getting an idea of this kind to the point of having an own web address (URL) and a dedicated mailing list.

Xciti.net grows and is growing with you letting know others of it's existence.

Whithout the first gathering and all what came after, well, there would not have been something like Xciti.net.

But Xciti.net would not have been without an operating system that allows people after long office hours to enjoy computing.

Not rarely was the webmaster stranded at airports or thereabouts and to fill in the time in the lounges he just grabbed his PowerBook and off went another remake of Xciti.

The initial 5 pages grew to more than 120 in less than 6 month (through 3 major remakes) and exceed 600 now thanks to the fact that the webmaster has fun doing it.

Sure, things might be done better but do not forget that this is a totally non profit (but some costs ....) endeavor and an exercise that is confined to the minutes the webmaster shaves from his daily tasks.

To make it easier though good old Apple Computer steps in:

It is the Macintosh platfrom with a flurry of excellent software (from database to web design to image management) which still push the webmaster to get along.

Funny, if he has to do some upgrade/update it is more a matter of convincing him to do the job than to get it done.

So here we go with the tecnical side of credits:

Apple Computer: for providing the Macintosh computing platform (MacOS9 and Mac OS X) and hardware (PowerBook and presently iMac)

Golive 6: using this brand new web editor and still on the learning curve

TextWrangler with its superfast search and replace function.

Graphicconverter for the artwork and image tweaking.

Safari, Firefox , Camino and Omniweb are the browsers on which Xciti is tested.

Some may notice that no mention is made of microsoft or pc. Rightly so: that would be no fun!

The server on which Xciti.net is hosted is at Aruba .

And the fast internet connection (10mbps) is from Fastweb.
