What I'm doing

Joined Citibank's International Banking Group in 1974 and enjoyed 21 years in Corporate and FI bank assignments in New York, Milan, Antwerp, Copenhagen, London and New York.

Last position held was as Group Credit Officer for the World Corporation Group, from where I was recruited to Deutsche Bank, North America as their Chief Credit Officer and member of their Management Committee.

Two years later I was recruited to CSFB in NY for a similar position which eventually evolved into responsibilities as head of Credit Policy and Planning, as well as Secretary to the EXCO's capital allocation and risk management committee. Functions, staff and responsibilities were both in Zurich and New York.

Five years later I was recruited to ABN AMRO's Investment Bank in NY as senior coverage officer for banks and broker dealers for the FI Corporate Finance initiative. Notwithstanding good intial results, Amsterdam pulled the plug on this initiative only 18 months later. With a 6 month "no compete" clause in my contract, I suddenly fell into a number of consulting engagements for former clients in Berlin, London, Tokyo and NY.

In November of 2003 I was recruited by BayernLB's Board to accept their appointment as Executive Vice President and Regional Risk Manager for the Americas, based in NY. With one branch and only two rep offices (Mexico City and Montreal) we are a highly profitable niche player with a product focus on mortgage backed securities, securitization structures, real estate, project finance and asset based lending. Our clients are: state and local government entities, energy companies and utilities, automotives, aerospace & defense companies and selected mutinationals.
